Mobility Citycard

The Mobility Citycard is available to permanent city residents with a qualifying disability. The Mobility Citycard gives cardholders free travel as part of the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme.

The Mobility Citycard also offers the benefits of great retail, leisure and library savings. You can apply for a Mobility Citycard at the Broadmarsh Bus Station Travel Centre.

Bus and tram travel

Mobility Citycard holders get free travel as part of the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme. This allows free bus travel between 9.30am and 11.00pm Monday to Friday and at all times at weekends and bank holidays.

In addition to this Nottingham City Council also provide additional travel benefits such as travel before 9.30am, after 11pm and Tram Travel to Nottingham City residents.

Please note that night buses are special services and are not covered by the National Concessionary Scheme. 

City Dial-a-Ride

If you are unable to use conventional bus services, there is a door to door service provided by Nottingham Community Transport.

You can register for Dial-a-Ride if you live within four miles of the City Centre and you are temporarily or permanently disabled. Membership costs £6 (per year) and a current fare chart is given to you when you register. A 50% discount is given on these fares if you have a current concessionary bus pass. If you have a helper, they can travel free of charge.

Dial-a-Ride will take you anywhere within 10 miles of the City Centre, and also includes East Midlands Airport. There is a service 7 days a week from 8.30am to 11pm, excluding Bank Holidays.

Get fit and save money

If you are a Nottingham City resident your Senior Citycard automatically saves you 50% on most activities at city leisure centres. You can also add flexible fitness to your Easyrider Citycard. Flexible Fitness is a great value health and fitness membership which enables you to enjoy gyms, swimming, fitness classes, sauna/steam rooms and more at Nottingham City Council leisure centres. Access City and County Council Libraries

Citycard holders can use their card to access free book loans, free IT and internet services, information collections and children's areas plus lots more. Find out more about using libraries here.

 

Applying for a Mobility Citycard

 

You will need to apply for your Mobility Citycard in person at our travel centre in the Broadmarsh Bus Station. You will need to bring along proof of your address (such as a bank statement or utility bill). More information about the application process can be found here.

Once we've processed your application we'll write to you to book an independent medical assessment. Once you have attended the assessment we will send you your Mobility Citycard if you meet the criteria.
